“Doctor Who’s” Matt Smith will join the cast of Paramount and Skydance Prods.’ “Terminator” pic, the studios have confirmed.
The reboot will be directed by Alan Taylor from a Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier script and will also star Arnold Schwarzenegger, Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke (who are not related!), Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi and Byung Hun Lee.
Smith will play a new character in the franchise who has strong connections to original “Terminator” character John Connor (Jason Clarke).
Schwarzenegger will, of course, reprise his infamous cyborg role.
“Terminator: Genesis” bows July 1, 2015.
