“Sons of Anarchy’s” Drea de Matteo has landed a villainous role in “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”
The actress will play Karla Faye Gideon, “a Gifted woman with a grudge to bear against S.H.I.E.L.D. who joins forces with Skye’s father, Cal,” Marvel announced.
“We’re thrilled to have Drea join us as yet another great villain to challenge our cast,” said Executive Producer and Marvel’s Head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb. “We relished the opportunity to work with her in such a menacing role.”
FYI, for those of you who picked up that there is a character from “Daredevil: Redemption” who goes by the same name, the characters don’t seem to be related and Marvel hasn’t commented on any connection. Perhaps Marvel is reworking the name for a new character?
“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” returns to ABC on Tuesday, March 3.
