It was recently reported that Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart were in talks to join the “Jumanji” remake.
Now, Johnson has taken to Instagram to confirm his role in the film – though we don’t have any news on the Hart front.
Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner worked on the script from a draft by the original writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. The story centers on a 12-year-old boy who gets trapped in a board game in 1969 and is released 26 years later.
Jake Kasdan is on board to direct the latest adaptation of Chris Van Allsburg’s original 1981 adventure book. It was famously made into a movie starring Robin Williams in 1995.
The film has been slated to open on July 28, 2017.
