Efron joins Johnson for R-rated Baywatch movie

Zac Efron is joining Dwayne Johnson for the bigscreen take on TV classic “Baywatch”, the Hollywood Reporter announced today.

In addition to confirming Efron’s anointment, Johnson tweeted that the movie will be Rated R.

Johnson says he and Efron have been talking about doing the movie for a “long time”; a couple of years prior, Johnson and Efron were speaking about doing “Johnny Quest” together.

The “Baywatch” movie will be directed by Seth Gordon (“Horrible Bosses”) which suggests the tone of the film will be of the raunchy adults-only laffer ilk. Damian Shannon & Mark Swift wrote the first draft of the film, due to start lensing early next year.
