Eva Longoria is joining Isabela Moner in the live-action “Dora the Explorer” film, which is based on the Nickelodeon TV series.
The film is currently in production in Australia, and also stars Eugenio Derbez, Micke Moreno, Nicholas Coombe, Madeleine Madden, Adriana Barraza and Temuera Morrison. James Bobin is directing.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, “Dora the Explorer” will tell the story of Dora, a girl who has spent most of her life exploring the jungle with her parents but now must navigate her most dangerous adventure yet: high school. Always the explorer, Dora quickly finds herself leading Boots (her best friend, a monkey), Diego and a rag-tag group of teens on a Goonies-esque adventure to save her parents and solve the impossible mystery behind a lost Inca civilization.
Longoria is to play Dora’s mother, Elena.
“Dora the Explorer” has a release date of August 2nd, 2019.
