Aussie head-turner Jacki Weaver is attached to star in actor Ron Perlman’s directorial debut “Wooden Lake”.
The film tells of a family who have been scarred by tragedy years earlier, reuniting for the wedding of the youngest child.
The film, produced via Perlman’s company Wing and a Prayer, is said to include splashings of drama, comedy, and romance.
Earlier this month, Perlman told TV Guide “It’s a sweet little drama about a family … It’s like a souffle – it takes a light hand – and there’s a very powerful, emotional punch at the end.”
Weaver, an Oscar nominee for the similar-toned “Silver Linings Playbook”, last appeared in “Parkland”.
Film is being repped at AFM.
