Exclusive : Skarsgard/Booth comic-book movie a go!

Three years after it was initially announced, the feature film adaptation of 2000 A.D comic “Stronghold” is inching towards production with Stellan Skarsgard (“Thor”) and Douglas Booth (“Noah”) signing on for lead roles.

The feature, a rather unique fantasy film that pits the undead against gallant knights (and they say the idea well is concrete dry in Hollywood!?), is based on Paul Finch’s medival comic about a group of British knights go into battle against a horde of Welsh zombies in medieval Europe.

Speranza13media house the production, which Finch himself has adapted for the big screen.

The film, expected to go before the cameras within the next few months, is down for a 2013 release.

In the film, Ranulf and his team of heroic knights have just conquered the land of Wales. On their way back to the castle they call home, they happen upon an unforeseen enemy – one that never fixed on battling, the undead. Seems the Welsh have been conquered and killed, but the enemy has risen again as zombies!

Having both been involved in period pieces and adventure yarns over the past few years, Skarsgard and Booth will be right at home here.

Skarsgard’s most recent credits include Marvel’s “Thor” and it’s upcoming sequel, “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, “The Avengers” and “Melancholia”. He will next appear in “The Railway Man” with Colin Firth, “Nymphomaniac” and “Romeo and Juliet”, opposite Booth.

Aside from “Romeo and Juliet” (2013), Englishman Booth will be seen in Darren Aronofsky’s “Noah”, and recently appeared in “LOL” with Miley Cyrus and the small-screen reboot of “Great Expectations”, playing Pip.

Video-game vet Jason Kingsley is directing, with Ileen Maisel and Lawrence Elman producing.

20th Century Fox doing Peanuts movie!

Whatever happened to the third xXx!?
