Farrell, Kitsch for True Detective!?

So much for those Cheech and Chong rumours….

(what!? You didn’t hear them? Nah, me either… but wouldn’t it be ‘must watch TV’ if that it was to happen?)

Colin Farrell and Taylor Kitsch look to be the Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson of ”True Detective”’s second season.

According to The Wrap, Farrell is in talks to play the older of two cops in the highly-anticipated sophomore season, while former “Friday Night Lights” star Kitsch has been mentioned as a candidate for the younger law-enforcer.

A female lead is also rumoured to be in the courting stages.

“It takes place in California — not Los Angeles, but some of the much lesser known venues of California — and we’re going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambiance of the place, much like we did in season 1”, says creator Nic Pizzolatto.

HBO are issuing a blanket “no response” to the casting rumours.

Farrell is hot off turns in “Saving Mr Banks” and “In Bruges”, while Kitsch recently appeared in the acclaimed “Lone Survivor”.
