Female directors vying for Star Wars job

Lucasfilm may hire a female director for one of their upcoming “Star Wars” titles.

According to The Los Angeles Times, WMC agent Adriana Alberghetti has landed meetings for four female directors and three female writers at the compound. Though the article doesn’t name any of the women, Alberghetti reps such female talent as “Buffy” alum Marti Noxon and Sarah Gavron, director of “Suffragette”, so chances are they’ll be conversing with Kathleen.

Lucasfilm have already secured directors for most of their upcoming “Star Wars” films – notably the follow-ups to “The Force Awakens”, as well as the upcoming “Rogue One” and “Han Solo” standalone movies – so it’ll be quite a while before we see a female-led instalment I’d think.
