With Sony now in bed with Marvel (on the “Spider-Man” reboot), no surprise to hear that Fox may have started to come around too.
Either because they can see how fruitful the union of Marvel and Sony has been so far, and maybe because Fox feel that Marvel are the only chance they’ve got for their “X-Men” movies, considering how lacklustre that latest instalment is, rumours abound that a “X-Men” and “Avengers” crossover movie might finally be in the works.
Matt Key, a producer on Kevin Smith’s Fatman on Batman podcast (via Collider), says he’s “heard from a few of my sources, my little birds that Fox and Marvel have… kind of talked, but not really, but like there’s interest from Fox, like, ‘Ooh, y’know, what they did with Sony and Spider-Man is actually pretty cool, like, maybe…’ We’re years away from that ever possibly happening… but I think that’s what it would take… Fox joining hands with Marvel…”
While Key seemed quite confident in his source, let’s also remember that something like this would take eons to put together (considering the parties involved) so until you read it in a presser Wolverine and Iron Man won’t be teaming up on the big screen anytime soon. But from the guy that never thought he see his beloved Freddy Krueger do battle with Jason Voorhees on the big screen, don’t give up fans!
