Fox has given a pilot production commitment to a series based on DC character Black Lightning.
It was revealed last week that DC’s Greg Berlanti was developing the series with husband/wife team Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil.
Berlanti and Sarah Schechter are exec producers. Akil and Brock Akil wrote the script.
Black Lightning, one of DC’s first major African American heroes, was created by Tony Isabella with Trevor Von Eeden and debuted in 1977.
