A prequel to classic family comedy “The Sandlot” is in the works, with the original screenwriter and director of the 1993 film, David Mickey Evans, returning to co-write the script.
Per Deadline, the project is still in the early stages of development at Twentieth Century Fox and a plot has yet to be released though one might assume the libretto will center on the younger years of The Beast, the English Mastiff from the earlier movie.
The original pic, which spawned two direct-to-video sequels, recently celebrated it’s 25th anniversary.
