Despite rampant reports, “Game of Thrones” author George R.R Martin says there’s no film version of the HBO hit in the works – not yet, anyway.
It was reported earlier this week that a feature film based on the tele smash was in development – albeit not with Martin, who was apparently too busy to get involved – with one outlet suggesting that the movie would be a prequel.
“Yes, completely false”, Martin said on his official blog. “No one is working on any movie just now. And if there was a movie, it would not be about Robert’s Rebellion.”
While it’s likely HBO have discussed the possibility of a “Game of Thrones” movie, it likely won’t be until the show ends – and even then, it’d have to be going gangbusters still to make a spin-off movie worthwhile (case in point : the “Entourage” movie).
