Game of Thrones to end in 2 more seasons, Gilmore Girls to begin July 1

“Game of Thrones” showrunner David Benioff says the show will conclude after the next two seasons.

Those seasons will also be shorter than usual.

“It’s two more seasons we’re talking about. From pretty close to the beginning, we talked about doing this in 70-75 hours, and that’s what we’ll end up with. Call it 73 for now,” Benioff said.

Benioff said they won’t be extending the show simply to put more money in everyone’s pockets.

“Not planning to prolong the saga just because there’s a lot of people who still watch it. We wanted to something where, if people watched it end to end, it would make sense as one continuous story.”

Meanwhile, Netflix have confirmed that, in the lead-up to to the new episodes that’ll premiere later in the year, they’ll begin screening full seasons of “Gilmore Girls” – seasons one to eight – from July 1.

Star Lauren Graham made the announcement in a short video encouraging punters to play catch up before streaming the new episodes this Fall.

“Gilmore Girls: Seasons,” will be broken up into four 90-minute episodes, each of which will focus on a different season of the year.
