Nicolas Cage in “Untouchables” prequel
We knew they were after him for the role, but word from the summery streets of Hollywood this morning is that Nicolas Cage has been cast as Al Capone in the prequel to 1987s “The Untouchables”.
The MTV Movies blog confirmed the news this morning, noting that the film – “The Untouchables: Capone Rising”: – re-teams Cage with his “Snake Eyes” director Brian DePalma.
The prequel will fix on the early days of Al Capone and his good-guy nemesis, Jimmy Malone, the Irish Cop played by Sean Connery in the original film.
The flick goes before the cameras in October.
