Gina Carano enlists for Star Wars series

Action staple Gina Carano is joining Pedro Pascal for Disney+’s “The Mandalorian”.

The “Fast & Furious 6” scene-stealer has been enlisted for an undisclosed role in the Jon Favreau written/executive-produced series which is set to bow next year on the Mouse’s streaming service.

Dave Filoni will direct episodes, along with Taika Waititi, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa and Deborah Chow.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

MMA star Carano, whose other credits include “Haywire” and “Deadpool”, is only the second confirmed cast member for the series.
