For the longest time, it’s been speculated that “Gotham” favourite Jerome (Cameron Monaghan) will ultimately become the show’s Clown Prince of Crime. But according to David Mazouz, who plays the young Bruce Wayne, that’s not the case – and we’ll meet the real Joker soon.
“He is not the Joker, that’s all I’m saying”, the actor tells the Discussing Film podcast. “He is definitely the inspiration for the Joker and the way that the Joker comes into the show is, in my opinion, one of the most brilliant things Gotham has ever done.”
Monaghan himself later tweeted “What we’ve cooked up and discussed is something not to be missed. It’s a twist on familiar themes, both new and old echoes of the mythos. Something entirely new, but we believe true to the spirit of the show as well as the comics. Proud I got to be a part of it.”
The tweet has since been deleted.
“Gotham” is currently in it’s fourth season.
