Greenlight nears for X-Files return!

Fox is said to be inches away from fisting a go button on the “X-Files” reboot, according to TV Wise.

The network and series creator Chris Carter have reportedly agreed on a storyline for the new eps (it will reportedly answer many fan questions not answered in the series or the two movies) – I’m betting it involves aliens. Just a hunch. Paranoia might also figure.

Assumingly part sequel, part redo, the 2015 “X-Files” is reportedly structured to be a short-order series (akin to the network’s “24 : Live Another Day”) – different outlets claiming it to be either a 6, 8, or 10 episode run.

David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson would return as series staples Mulder and Scully, respectively. Both are committed to other shows, so it took some work arounds to make this happen. With “Dallas” (what’s with the reboots, ma!?) done, expect Mitch Pileggi to also be back – in some shape – as Skinner; the outlet says he’s actually just received an offer.

Carter will write and direct the new episodes, as well as snare an obligatory producing credit. No word on “X-Files” writer and EP Frank Spotnitz’s involvement yet. I think what everyone wants to know though is will Lucas Black be back as the curious kid with the black shit streaming through his veins! No? just me?
