Weeeeell, this brings back memories of when all the viral marketing kicked off for ”The Dark Knight” back in 2008, doesn’t it? Why would it be any different now that production has kicked off for ”The Dark Knight Rises”, I guess – Warners are still being crafty in their marketing.. Now that filming is underway, Warner Bros quietly launched the official site for the film over at TheDarkKnightRises.com
Initially, when you first visit the site, all you see is a black screen with some sort of chating going on and when you click it, you get the audio file with the chant.
Of course, people solve these things quickly so as I finish typing this, the whole mystery’s already solved. Sorry to break it to ya.
One of the posters over at Superherohype solved the audio file where the Twitter hashtag #Thefirerises is revealed. There’s now a Twitter account with the handle thefirerises.
And upon using the Twitter hashtag, the image would slowly be uncovered aaaand now that it’s been uncovered, we get our first look at Tom Hardy as Bane :

”The Dark Knight Rises” is directed by Christopher Nolan and stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata and Nestor Carbonell for a July 20, 2012 release.
