“Avengers” star Cobie Smulders is in talks to join Tom Cruise in “Jack Reacher 2”, says The Wrap.
The actress, who got her break on TV sitcom “How I Met Your Mother”, would play Danika, the female lead in the Ed Zwick-directed sequel.
The sequel will be based on author Lee Child’s “Never Go Back,” in which Reacher travels to the headquarters of the U.S. Army Military Police Corps and finds his commanding officer has been arrested.
“Jack Reacher 2” begins filming in November.
Smulders, who recently wrapped Clea DuVall’s untitled directorial debut, recently starred in the films “Results” and “Unexpected”.
