Its all Relativity for Clancy

“Without Remorse” finds a new home

Finally, another Tom Clancy book cum film looks to grace our cinema screens. With “Red Rabbit” (the one Ben Affleck was supposed to follow-up “Sum Of All Fears” with; reprising his role as young CIA Analyst Jack Ryan) as good as dead and “Rainbow Six” not going anywhere fast, there’s good news on the long-planned “Without Remorse” film.

The pic, which fixes on the character of former Navy SEAL John Kelly (the chap Liev Schrieber played in “The Sum of All Fears” and Willem Dafoe played in “Clear and Present Danger”), has been snapped up by Relativity Media, The Hollywood Reporter announces.

The film was previously set up at Paramount, where John Singleton (“2 Fast 2 Furious”) was set to direct. Relativity won’t be retaining Singelton – they’re currently out to directors, and hope to have the film up early next year.

Interestingly enough, the production shingle also acquired the rights to the aforementioned Clancy book “Rainbow Six”.

With Stuart Beattie (“Collateral”) writing the screenplay to “Remorse”, we’re promised a pretty good movie.
