Jack and the Beanstalk movie in the works

Disney is bringing another much-loved fairy tale to the silver screen.

The studio is adapting “Jack and the Beanstalk”, Disney chief creative officer John Lasseter announced at the studio’s D23 Expo on Friday.

The film will be titled “Gigantic” and will be directed by Nathan Greno (“Tangled”).

Set in Spain, “Gigantic” will follow Jack up the beanstalk where he befriends an 11 years old, 60 foot tall giant named Inma. But Inma is not the only giant at the top of the beanstalk, with the evil Storm Giants standing at 120 feet.

Dorothy McKim is producing the film which will hit cinemas in 2018.
