Jackman, Egerton set for Ski jumper biopic

Fox employees Hugh Jackman (the “X-Men” franchise) and Taron Egerton (“Kingsman: The Secret Service”) are set for “Eddie the Eagle”, according to The Daily Mail.

The film will tell the true story of Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards, the first British ski jumper in Olympic history. Edwards didn’t want either event, but became a bit of a media darling.

Jackman plays Chuck Berghorn, the Lake Placid-hailing ski jumper expert who helps Edwards train.

Egerton, playing the lead role, bet George McKay and Jamie Bell for the part after nailing a “magical screen test” with Jackman.

The Matthew Vaughn produced movie will be helmed by actor cum director Dexter Fletcher.
