Jennifer Connelly could be joining the ranks of “Top Gun 2”, with the actress reportedly in talks to join Tom Cruise for the new film “Maverick”.
The Hollywood Reporter states that if the deal is made, she will play the movie’s female lead, a single mother who runs a local bar near the Navy base.
Joseph Kosinski is directing the sequel to the 1986 classic, with Cruise reprising his role as hotshot Navy pilot Maverick. Also on board is recently cast Miles Teller as the son of Goose, Maverick’s wingman, played by Anthony Edwards in the original movie.
The film is set to begin production in September in San Diego.
