Jessica Chastain Joins Joseph Kosinski’s Next

Does Jessica Chastain sleep nowadays? Ever since she starred in Terrence Malick’s “The Tree of Life”, she’s been everywhere and she’s clearly not slowing down one bit & I say, good for you. She’s already a household name thanks to “The Help”, so why stop now?

Chastain, who can also be seen in “The Debt”, has been cast alongside Tom Cruise in “Tron: Legacy” director Joseph Kosinski’s next sci-fi film. Originally, the film was called Oblivion, but for the time being, it’s untitled.

The project is a love story taking place in an apocalyptic future where most of the population lives in clouds since the Earth is no longer habitable. An Earthbound repairman whose job it is to work on drones that fight alien life forms meets a woman who forces him to question his world view.

Chastain beat out a number of actresses including Olivia Wilde, Noomi Rapace, Brit Marling and Olga Kurylenko for the role.

Cruise was first cast in the male lead role back in May. Production will begin shortly in October.
