Justice League star to headline Watchmen series

Esteemed actor Jeremy Irons, last seen as Alfred in “Justice League”, has been tapped for a lead role in Damon Lindelof’s ”Watchmen” series at HBO.

The actor, an Oscar winner for 1991’s “Reversal of Fortune”, joins Regina King, Don Johnson, Tim Blake Nelson, Louis Gossett Jr., Adelaide Clemens and Andrew Howard in the small-screen take on the groundbreaking graphic novel.

No details on which part is Irons is playing as yet.
