Keira Knightley will play the Sugar Plum Fairy in Disney’s live-action “Nutcracker” project, reports Variety.
Mackenzie Foy is attached in the lead role with Misty Copeland attached as the lead ballerina. Morgan Freeman is also circling the film.
Based on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s 1816 story “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King”, the live-action film is titled “The Nutcracker and the Four Realms” and will be directed by Lasse Hallström from Ashleigh Powell’s script.
Mark Gordon is producing with Lindy Goldstein executive producing.
