Keitel heads to TV for Rio Heat

Harvey Keitel

Harvey Keitel will star in the new series “Rio Heat”, from “24” alum Jon Cassar, says Deadline.

The “From Dusk Till Dawn” and “Reservoir Dogs” star co-stars alongside Victor Webster (“Melrose Place”) in the action/comedy series.

Keitel will play Hubert Humbolt, a mysterious figure and ex-CIA operator who now owns the largest private investigation company in the world. He opens his Rio branch (enlisting our heroes to run it) as well as continuing to do contract work for his government cronies.

The show, said to be a mix between ”Hawaii 5-0”, ”Magnum PI” and ”Moonlighting”, will be executive produced and occasionally directed by Cassar.

The 2-hour pilot will screen theatrically by Fox Brazil in several Latin American countries. Fox Pay-TV Latin America has licensed the pay TV window in Latin America for the first 13 episodes.
