Kevin Bacon to star in Tremors TV show!

TREMORS, Charlotte Stewart, Ariana Richards, Kevin Bacon, 1990

Unarguably one of the most exciting bits of entertainment scoopage on the web today, Kevin Bacon is to return to the “Tremors” franchise… 25 years after first playing graboid-dodging Valentine McKee on the big screen.

Bacon, who has let it be known in many recent interviews that he’d be keen on returning to the series (that has spawned many direct-to-video sequels, none of which Bacon returned for), will star in and executive produce a TV series reboot of the 1990 movie.

From the sounds of it, the series – which is being shopped around to various networks – will be both a sequel and reboot, with Bacon’s character back in the original town of Parfection.

No word on whether any other original characters from the film series – specifically, Michael Gross and Fred Ward’s characters – will return alongside Val.

Blumhouse, who Bacon has done a couple of micro-budget horror flicks with, is producing the series.

The most recent direct-to-video “Tremors” film, “Tremors 5 : Bloodlines” starring Michael Gross and Jamie Kennedy, hit shelves last month.

Bacon is coming off recently canceled Fox series “The Following”. He also recently appeared in Scott Cooper’s “Black Mass” and indie thriller “Cop Car”.
