Kristen Wiig is set to star opposite Matt Damon in Alexander Payne’s “Downsizing”.
Wiig takes the female lead which was originally tied to Reese Witherspoon, who Deadline is now reporting has dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.
Christoph Waltz and Hong Chau are also in the film about “an Omaha man (Damon) who joins the throngs of people undergoing a new process that reduces people to a tiny fraction of their size and who moves to one of the many communities of small people that are sprouting up around the world”.
Wiig will play the man’s wife.
