Liam Neeson to play BBC war correspondent in Tarik Saleh thriller

Liam Neeson is set to star in Tarik Saleh’s adaptation of the Michael Ignatieff thriller novel “Charles Johnson in the Flames”, says Deadline.

The film, scripted by Justin Haythe, is reportedly one of the hot packages being offered up at Cannes.

“The Commuter” star will play the title character, a peerless BBC war correspondent covering civil unrest in the Congo. When the death of an innocent woman shakes him to his core, he risks everything to expose the truth, only to find himself embroiled in a network of murder, corruption, and violence that forces him to question his humanity.

The Cannes International Film Festival kicks off next Tuesday, May 8.
