Luke Arnold joins Teenage Kicks

Luke Arnold (“Black Sails”) is joining Bojana Novakovic (“Generation Um”) in the Aussie film “Teenage Kicks”, the film’s producers announced today.

The movie, running a crowd-funding campaign to raise some extra dollars at pozzible, flung the latest presser our way :

Arnold will play the role of Tomi Varga and joins fellow cast members Miles Szanto and Bojana Novakovic. Tomi is the eldest son in the Varga household, whose accidental death sends shockwaves through the family and forces his younger brother Mik (Szanto) to question his position in the family and his guilt in the events of his brother’s death.
WAAPA graduate Arnold known for television performances such as McLeods Daughter’s, Rescue Special Ops, Rush and Stephen Spielberg’s The Pacific. His feature film debut was on Broken Hill along side Academy Award winner Timothy Hutton and Australian actor Rhys Wakefield. In addition he was in the indie hit The Tunnel. Luke is currently in South Africa playing Long John Silver in Michael Bay’s new production, Black Sails, an eight part series set 20 years before the events in Robert Louis Stevenson’s Treasure Island and has recently been confirmed to play Michael Hutchence in Never Tear Us Apart: The INXS Story for Shine Australia’s two part biopic.
Teenage Kicks is a journey through the minefield of adolescence as Miklos Varga, played by young up and comer Miles Szanto, searches for a way to navigate through his guilt over his brother’s death and his explosive sexuality to find the man he can be. The film has its roots in the team’s award winning short film, Drowning, that did impressive business on the festival circuit and collected quite few fans along the way.
Teenage Kicks is produced by Annmaree J Bell, written and directed by Craig Boreham, together they are an award-winning filmmaking team. Their work has screened in many festivals nationally and internationally including the Berlin International Film Festival, Palm Springs, Montreal and the Cinefiles in Cannes. Teenage Kicks will be the team’s debut feature film.

Arnold’s definitely one of the next big things – particularly having snared the part of Hutchence in “Never Tear Us Apart” – so quite a coup for “Teenage Kicks”!
