Has Disney ditched Avengers: Infinity War Part II?

Disney has offered an update on the titles of it’s upcoming “Avengers” films.

The studio had previously announced its upcoming superhero-ensemble movie as a two-part “Avengers: Infinity War” mega-flick (that was, “Avengers: Infinity War Part One” and “Part Two”), but now the studio has confirmed the first film will retain the “Avengers: Infinity War” title while the second movie has been officially re-titled “Untitled Avengers”.

Therefore it now appears that the studio has ditched its two part “Infinity War” movie idea, opting to make two separate films. Presumably, the second flick will not be a part two continuation, but a totally separate story in its own right.

Production on the two upcoming films are scheduled to get underway in November, with directors Anthony and Joe Russo shooting the films back to back.

Marvel’s “Avengers: Infinity War” is slated for release on May 4, 2018, while “Untitled Avengers” will open on May 3, 2019.
