Michael Vs. The Losers

Occasional-actor Jason Patric (“The Lost Boys” “Narc”) has joined the cast of the Warner Bros./Dark Castle adaptation of the DC-Vertigo comicbook “The Losers”.

Patric plays Max, a CIA agent who has gone off the rails and sets up the title characters, a black ops team, to be killed. Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Zoe Saldana and Idris Elba also star. Sylvain White directs.

Though well-known for his role in the horror blockbuster “The Lost Boys” (1987), this is both the first time Patric has played a villain and the first time he’s done a comic-book film.

“Let’s face it, the geeks have inherited the world, and if you want to be a player in this system, you have to be willing to do some of this,” Patric told Variety. “But I wouldn’t do ‘The Losers’ if it wasn’t interesting to me as an actor.”

Producer Joel Silver apparently courted Patric, who currently appears in the weepie “My Sister’s Keeper”.
