Miller boy clowns around for It

Will Poulter (“The Maze Runner,” “We’re the Millers”) has been cast as Pennywise in Newline’s new adaptation of Stephen King classic “It”.

According to Variety, the producers considered over going with an older actor (Ben Mendelsohn was in contention, they say) for the role of the killer clown but ultimately settled on the young British actor.

Tim Curry played the role in the original “It” mini-series.

Cary Fukunaga (“True Detective,” “Jane Eyre”) will direct a two-film story that fixes on a group of childhood friends who reunite to take down the clown/monster that taunted them as kids.

“It” begins filming this Summer.
