Crowe says Mummy reboot is “seriously” scary!

Hot on the sarcophagus of reports he’s in negotiations to join the cast, Oscar Winner Russell Crowe has spoken publicly about Universal’s reboot of “The Mummy” – which, it seems, he’ll definitely be playing a ‘Jekyll’ style character in. According to the actor and filmmaker, out plugging his new film “The Nice Guys”, this new take on the classic monster tale is going to be super scary – so no wacky Brendan Fraser-type hijinks this time around. “This one is kind of more designed to seriously scare the s— out of you”, the Kiwi actor tells Variety. “It’s very interesting, what they’re gonna do with that stuff. I’ve had a couple of chats about it with the director.”

Tom Cruise, Courtney B.Vance and Jake Johnson star in the film, which has Alex Kurtzman directing for a June 9, 2017 release.
