National Lampoon’s new adopted Son

Is the director of 80s classics like “Better Off Dead”

Hot on the heels of the announcement that he’ll make his comeback on a new comedy called “The Big One Three”, 80s comedy vet Savage Steve Holland (“Better Off Dead”) has also signed to direct a new comedy for the recently-tainted National Lampoon (remember when these guys only made good comedies?) crowd.

According to Variety, the crowd behind such, um, gems as “National Lampoon’s Scuba School”, “National Lampoon’s Spring Break” and “National Lampoon’s Pucked”, have signed Holland to helm its in-house college comedy “National Lampoon’s Ratko: The Dictator’s Son.”

“Ratko,” penned by Robert Mittenthal and Michael Rubiner, centers on a dictator’s son who heads to America to attend college.

John Cusack isn’t available.
