Feature Films

Hitches
Fred Schepisi has written, and will direct and produce, this big-budget comedy drama, his first Australian film since Evil Angels. Hitches is about two brothers who embark on a road trip, hitch-hiking to the Gold Coast for summer holidays. It’s one hell of a journey.

Schepisi’s latest film, It Runs in the Family, which stars Kirk Douglas and Michael Douglas, opens in America later this month.

You and Your Stupid Mate
From the producers of The Craic and Two Hands, this is a comedy about two friends, who find their lives turned upside down when they learn that have to work for the dole, that a freeway is going to be built through the middle of their caravan park, and that their favourite soap opera is going to be axed.

Marc Gracie is producer and Bryce Menzies is executive producer.

The Extra
Starring and written by comedian Jimeoin, this is a romantic comedy about a normal Joe Blow who sees movie stars getting money and girls and says, “Why not me?” He’s a simplistic bloke with innocent eyes, as if he is looking at everything for the first time.

Produced by Bruno Charlesworth (The Craic, Love and Other Catastrophes), Stephen Luby (Crackerjack, The Craic) and Mark Ruse (Kath & Kim, The Games)

Mondo
A black comedy from Ian David, the writer of the award-winning police corruption story Blue Murder. It is being produced by Mushroom Pictures and directed by Jonathan Teplitzky, who also directed Better Than Sex and the upcoming comedy, Gettin’ Square. Mondo tells the story of a little guy who gets himself into deep water when he goes bankrupt.

Mozart Maulers
This comedy is the true story of a bunch of music students who tackle life head on and win. Bringing together the creative talents of award-winning producer Martin Brown (Moulin Rouge, Romeo + Juliet, Strictly Ballroom) and director John Polson (Swimfan, Siam Sunset), Mozart Maulers is in the vein of The Full Monty, Billy Elliott and Bend It Like Beckham.
