No Big Screen Magnum for Tom?

Tom Selleck talked to The Chicago Sun Times and a little about the chances of a "Magnum P.I" film. "It’s obvious with all the television series they’re making into movies these days that there’s a demand for a film. In fact, in every interview I do people ask me, ‘Hey Tom, how come we’ve never seen "Magnum: The Movie?"", but Selleck has some bad news to add. ""The whole thing is so screwed up at Universal [Studios]," Selleck gripes about the company that produced his 1980-88 CBS series. "Over the years, they’ve occasionally wanted a movie, and then new powers arrive at the studio and they don’t want it. There’s not enough continuity there, so I’ve said, ‘Why don’t you give me the rights, because I can do a feature film anywhere in town?’ But Universal won’t let the rights go. Yet, they won’t do the movie."
