Stallone’s Tupac & Biggie film is D.O.A
Sylvester Stallone has revealed that his plans for “Notorious”, a movie he was developing about the murders of rappers Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls, has bitten the dust.
The Italian Stallion tells Aint it Cool News that there’s too much red tape to get around.
“I became involved in the Tupak/Biggie project about 4 years ago”, says Stallone of the film, which he intended to direct. “Gathering all the data, these two giant rap stars were murdered in front of numerous witnesses and no arrests have ever been made. This, on the surface, said to me some very important people had to be involved. Police Chiefs? The story was like a modern-day noir written from the point of view of a detective Poole, who basically was railroaded out of the police department because the more he investigated, the dirtier the high rollers in city hall and police commissions and DA offices all appeared to be part of a conspiracy to squash this case. I don’t think it’ll ever be done because of the amount of lawsuits that would be filed. “
“Notorious”, which Stallone was the co-writer, producer and director of, was intended to for HBO. Sly was said to have been attached to play the role of Los Angeles Police homicide Detective Russell Poole in it.
