Now Frasier is planning a reboot…

I’ve always said that a reboot/remake generally indicates a lack of original ideas, and this just screams it. Reports say that Kelsey Grammer is fielding interest in bringing back “Frasier” in a new series.

The character of Frasier was introduced in “Cheers”, before spinoff series “Frasier” saw great success with the character returning to his hometown of Seattle to start a life as a radio host to reconnect with his father and brother. The show ran for 11 seasons on NBC from 1993-2004, and starred Grammer, David Hyde Pierce, Jane Leeves, Peri Gilpin and the late John Mahoney.

Deadline reports that a new series will see “Frasier” set in a new city, with Grammer currently meeting with writers who are pitching ideas for the reboot. So it’s well and truly in the very early stages, but it’ll be interesting to see if the pitch gauges any interest.
