Orlando Bloom may return for Pirates of the Caribbean 5

With “The Hobbit” trilogy winding up, Orlando Bloom’s seemingly looking for another franchise to solidify his future employment prospects.

Might that franchise be the one he seemingly exited a few years back?

Speaking at Oz Comic-Con (via Yahoo!), Bloom said he’s spoken to the powers-that-be about reprising Will Turner for “Pirates of the Caribbean 5”.

There have certainly been some discussions about it and I’m open to it. That whole experience working with Johnny and (director) Gore (Verbinski) was really amazing for me. I had a great time working with Johnny, one of the reasons I jumped at the opportunity was because Johnny was involved. I was such a massive fan of Johnny Depp growing up so to get up close and personal to Johnny and see how he worked as an actor was just a massive gift.

”Pirates of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” will be directed by Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg and shoot in Australia – a country Bloom’s not unfamiliar with (having shot “Ned Kelly” downunder, and he also dated local darling Miranda Kerr for quite some time). The film is due for release in July of 2017.

Leave it to Beaver to get a role in Gillespie disaster film!
