Frank Oz spotted on Episode VIII set. Yoda returns!?

Frank Oz, the famous Muppeteer turned filmmaker who helped bring life to “Star Wars” fave Yoda, has reportedly been spotted on the set of the latest film in the series.

Yoda, as fans will recall, passed away in 1983’s “Return of the Jedi” – — so why on earth would Oz be on the set of “Star Wars Episode VIII”?

Could it just be that he’s simply visiting the set? Yes. He has, after all, had a long involvement in the franchise and would likely be naturally interested in how the new one is going down.

Could it be he’s voicing another character? That’s possible, too.

Could it be his there to record a couple of lines of Yoda for a flashback scene? Yes – after all, he did it for last year’s “Star Wars : The Force Awakens”.

Could he back to stick his hand up puppet Yoda’s butt? Doubtful, the last two times the series used Yoda they simply used CGI to add him in. There’d be no need for Oz to be on set. Unless, of course, director Rian Johnson is insisting to do Yoda as a puppet again. Considering the determination to do as many practical effects as possible on “Force Awakens”, wouldn’t be surprising to see them applying the same rule for the follow-up.

Still, we’ll let y’all speculate away for the time being.
