Post-Ewoks Star Wars series on the way

Jon Favreau’s previously-announced live-action “Star Wars” series will be set three years after the events of “Return of the Jedi”, the filmmaker told Nerdist at the “Solo: A Star Wars Story” premiere.

The series, which will apparently feature new characters and a previously-unseen storyline, takes place seven years after the events of The Battle of Yavin, depicted in “A New Hope”. That essentially means that events will take place three years after the Rebels visited the Ewok village in “Return of the Jedi”.

Favreau has signed on to executive produce and write the series for Disney’s new direct-to-consumer platform. Favreau is no stranger to the Star Wars galaxy having played roles in both the ”Star Wars: The Clone Wars” animated series and “Solo: A Star Wars Story”.

The “Iron Man” filmmaker wrote several scripts for the TV show before he even got the job, he tells Nerdist.
