The Predator gets to da Choppa this October!

The semi-“Predator” sequel – which may or may not feature Arnold Schwarzenegger’s franchise patriarch, ‘Dutch’ – will be before the cameras this October, director and co-writer Shane Black revealed Friday.

Co-written by “Iron Man 3” alum Black and “Monster Squad” helmer Fred Dekker, “The Predator” has been described as an “event film” that’ll directly tie to the events of the original 1987 film directed by John McTiernan and starring Schwarzenegger and Carl Weathers.

No word yet on whether the film will retain the hardcore, some may say super-violent tone of the original or be somewhat watered down (a’la “Alien Vs Predator : Requiem”) to entice a broader age bracket into the theater.
