It has finally been officially announced that “Star Wars” favourite R2-D2 will be appearing in the upcoming “Star Wars: Episode VII”, according to Variety.
Director J.J. Abrams recently teased audiences with an image of himself and producer Kathleen Kennedy standing next to the eponymous robot in the “Star Wars” workshop, with two members of the creature effects team for “Episode VII” also visible in the photo.
Production on the latest “Star Wars” installment is anticipated to commence early-mid 2014, given the anticipated December 18, 2015 release date.
Although no cast members have as yet been confirmed, this is expected to change over the coming weeks, so we will be keeping an eye out!
