Release date round-up! : Deadpool 2, Avatar quadrilogy, The Predator, X-Men, Insidious 4

The much anticipated sequel to 2016’s “Deadpool” has been given a release date, arriving in cinemas June 1, 2018. Casting is still apparently underway, with Josh Brolin most recently being cast as Cable.

The next 4 Avatar movies have been given release dates, after being delayed multiple times. James Cameron must have a lot of content, and of course a lot of confidence after announcing the dates for the upcoming sequels. “Avatar 2” will be released December 18, 2020, “Avatar 3” on December 17, 2021, followed by “Avatar 4” opening December 20, 2024, then a year later “Avatar 5” will come out December 19, 2025. Happy Christmas from the blue people.

“Predator” has been pushed back to the summer 2018, given an August 3, 2018 release date. Previously it was set to be released earlier in the year in February, but the later date might be good news to be a part of the summer blockbuster schedule. Plot details for the film are still unknown, but director Shane Black has confirmed it will be a sequel to the original films and will be rated R for maximum gore.

The ”X-Men” franchise continues with the next ”X-Men” movie “X-Men: Dark Phoenix” upcoming on November 2, 2018. The flick is based on the comic book storyline of the same name, which is basically character Jean Grey (seen in X-Men: Apocalypse, played by Sophie Turner) getting exposed to radiation and pushing her mutant powers to their limit.

Finally, “Insidious Chapter 4” has been pushed back, with horror fans having to now wait until early 2018 to see it. The film is slated for a January 5, 2018 release, and is thought to be a prequel to the first two movies, although plot details are being kept under wraps at this stage.
