Umpteen years after the first promise of a sequel, screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick are officially at work on “Zombieland 2″.
The duo dropped the news on an episode of AMC’s Geeking Out, confirming that the star of the original (but no word on co-stars Emma Stone, Jesse Eisenberg or Abigail Breslin) is due back.
”That is breaking news that we’re on Zombieland 2 right now. We’re sitting with Woody [Harrelson] tomorrow and are going to sort of walk him through some of the stuff we want to do. All the cast is pretty excited.”
Ruben Fleischer directed the original; assumingly, he’d be back to captain the sequel.
