Ridley Scott not directing Blade Runner 2

Ridley Scott won’t be directing “Blade Runner 2”.

Variety says the “Prometheus” helmer will be handing the reigns over to someone else this time, but he’ll produce.

Harrison Ford will be back as Rick Deckard, but he won’t be the main star.

Scott says, “Harrison is very much part of this one, but really it’s about finding him; he comes in in the third act.”

Much like “Star Wars : The Force Awakens”, Ford’s character – the main draw-card of the original – will take a back seat to some new, younger characters.

“it all makes sense in terms of how it relates to the first one”.
