Arthur Darvill (“Doctor Who”) has been cast as Rip Hunter on the CW’s upcoming Flash/Arrow spin-off, according to Deadline.
The character is described as “a roguish time traveler who hides the strains of being responsible for history itself behind a facade of charm and wit”.
Darvill joins the recently cast Ciara Renée (Hawkgirl) on Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg & Marc Guggenheim’s new superhero hour.
Ported over from either “Arrow” or “The Flash” for the new series are Brandon Routh (”Arrow”‘s Ray Palmer/The Atom), Wentworth Miller (”The Flash”‘s Leonard Snart/Captain Cold), Dominic Purcell (”The Flash”‘s Mick Rory/Heat Wave), Victor Garber (Dr. Martin Stein on “The Flash”) and Caity Lotz – who may or may not be reprising her role as the thought-dead Black Canary from “Arrow”.
Another male, set for superhero garb too, is still to be cast on the show.
